I’m an illustrator, living in Derbyshire with
my cat Marley, aka #Somecat.
My passion is for children’s book illustration. I love telling stories through visual imagery, creating environments populated by animal and human characters, sending them on amazing journeys or quests of discovery and wonder. My work is inspired by animals, nature, the environment, science, history, people and places.
I studied at Falmouth University (online BA Visual Communications) and Polytechnic of Central London (BA Film, Video and Photographic Arts). Previous professional experience includes picture research, exhibition management, working with children and young people on creative education projects, and producing exhibition resources for children and young people.
​My creative process is underpinned by research and inspiration. I work with a range of materials (pencils, paints, inks, paper and digital), and I like to get experimental and messy before I start to refine my ideas.
